Declaration on barrier-free accessibility
The Competence Center for Nonprofit Organizations and Social Entrepreneurship at WU Vienna, as the responsible editorial office for ACCESS Dementia, endeavors to make the website www.access-dementia.eu barrier-free accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Barrier-free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act - WZG) BGBl. I. No. 59/2019 idgF, to make it barrier-free accessible.
This barrier-free accessibility statement applies to www.access-dementia.eu.
Status of compatibility with the requirements
This website is fully compliant in the German and English language versions (www.access-dementia.eu/de as well as www.access-dementia.eu/en) with compliance level AA of the "Guidelines for Accessible Web Content - WCAG 2.1" and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03), respectively, according to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
The language versions Bulgarian, Romanian, Slovak and Slovenian (www.access-dementia.eu/bg , www.access-dementia.eu/ro , www.access-dementia.eu/sk , www.access-dementia.eu/sl) are partially compliant with compliance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1" and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03), respectively, under Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Not barrier-free accessibility
The Bulgarian, Romanian, Slovak and Slovenian language versions (www.access-dementia.eu/bg , www.access-dementia.eu/ro , www.access-dementia.eu/sk , www.access-dementia.eu/sl) are not accessible as defined by WCAG 2.1, AA.
Barrier-free accessibility implementation for the above language versions is planned for 2023.
The content listed below is not barrier-free accessibility for the following reasons:
- Images (alternative texts are missing)
- Tables used as images (not readable by screen readers)
- Downloads (COACH section)
The reason for the missing barrier-free accessibility is that this was not part of the project plan during the implementation of www.access-dementia.eu in 2022, but this was always planned as a further expansion stage of ACCESS Dementia and will be implemented in 2023. The platform is primarily used in German-speaking countries, which is why we have deliberately accepted this delay in the implementation of barrier-free accessibility in languages other than German and English.
Creation of the barrier-free accessibility statement
This declaration was created on December 31, 2022.
The statement was created based on a self-assessment conducted by the Competence Center for Nonprofit Organizations and Social Entrepreneurship at WU Vienna.

Enforcement Procedure
In case of unsatisfactory responses from the above contact option, you can contact the Complaints Office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency with Limited Liability (FFG) by means of a complaint. The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the contact form of the Complaints Office.
The complaints are examined by the FFG to determine whether they relate to violations of the requirements of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular deficiencies in compliance with accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an institution attributable to it.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG must issue recommendations for action to the federal government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures to remedy the deficiencies at hand.
